A malfunctioning irrigation system does not simply fail to water your lawn. Broken heads produce dry spots. Misaligned heads water sidewalks and driveways instead of turf. Leaking valves waterlog sections of the lawn, promoting root rot, fungal disease, and anaerobic soil conditions. Smith LawnCare provides professional irrigation repair services for residential and commercial systems throughout West Des Moines, IA.
About Our Irrigation Repair Services in West Des Moines, IA
Our irrigation repair service begins with a system-wide diagnostic. Rather than simply replacing the component that appears to be failing, we evaluate the full system operation to identify all issues present, since a system with one visible failure often has additional developing problems that will require attention within the same season. We run each zone independently, inspect head operation and alignment, check valve function, test controller programming, and evaluate backflow preventer condition.
Common irrigation repairs we perform include broken head replacement, head height adjustment or repositioning to correct overspray, valve repair or replacement for zones that fail to open or close correctly, solenoid replacement for zones that have lost electrical function, controller programming updates and replacements where older units have failed, pressure regulator installation where supply pressure is damaging heads, and backflow preventer inspection and repair to maintain regulatory compliance.
Seasonal startup and winterisation services round out our irrigation offerings. Spring startup includes a full system inspection, head testing, controller programming for the growing season, and valve lubrication. Autumn winterisation uses compressed air to purge water from all zones before ground freeze, preventing the pipe and fitting damage that water expansion during freezing regularly causes. Properties that skip proper winterisation frequently face significant repair costs in spring that would have been entirely avoidable with proper seasonal care.
